This photo shows damage to the bridge following the second kamikaze attack. The bridge was inoperable and a wheel and compass were mounted on the flight deck to use in steering the ship back to Bremerton for repairs.
During quieter times the ship's band entertains the sailors, ship's officers and flight crews.
